[1] It has been determined by Dr. Richard Holland’s, a Princeton scientist, group’s work titled “Bats Use Magnetite to Detect the Earth's Magnetic Field” on plos.org, that some bats use Earth’s magnetic fields for navigation. If the poles reverse, the bats typical path could grow askew and complicate both migration and hibernation.
